History of "Clubbing"

I was thinking about the expression "going clubbing" (going to a nightclub) and an image of two cartoon cavemen saying they were going to go clubbing (conking a cave-woman over the head). So I thought it would be funny to make a graphical timeline showing the history of that phrase. The timeline still only exists in my head but here are the events I would have put on it.
- Cave men
- British men in 1700's saying they were going to Club Sandwich (nightclub owned by the Earl of Sandwich)
- Men in the 1800's saying they were going to Billy Club
- 1970's going to Club Soda
- Modern men saying "let's go clubbing"
